ABOUT EOYOF

EOYOF, which stands for Enhancing Our Youth Our Future, was established  2009 by Robert Scales. The EOYOF organization consists of over 100+ student-athletes from different areas of the Shelby County region that are energetic, dedicated and willing to put in the work in the classroom and on the basketball court. Our objective with EOYOF is to mentor and develop our youth, not only in basketball but in academics and other aspects of their lives as well. We want to provide athletic, educational, recreational, and lifelong learning opportunities that will promote community and family values. We see EOYOF as much more than just an organization, we see this as family as well, We just want what's best for our youth and want to see them succeed in so many different aspects of their life. Aside from school, EOYOF is always busy with various team activities such as writing essays about goals and weaknesses, team practices, training, community service, team/parent meetings, cookouts, movies, sleepovers and other team building experiences. Our organization is so much more than just basketball. It's not all about winning, it's about developing our youth's mindset and preparing them for their future.

MEET THE COACH

Robert Scales has been actively coaching, mentoring, giving back to our community and training youth basketball players for over 11 years. He started his coaching career as the Head Coach of the Hickory Hill Community Center Wildcats in 2009. He later branched off on his own and established the organization that we know of today, EOYOF. October of 2016, he became the Head Coach of the Power Center Academy Middle School boys basketball team. Coach Scales is a very passionate and dedicated coach. He gives the youth hope, confidence, energy, structure, discipline, leadership, bonding and teamwork. He has a true love for what he does and strives to see all of his student-athletes succeed. He's very supportive of all of his student-athletes, he not only attends sporting events but he's also willing to attend graduations, plays, birthday parties, etc. He says "It's Bigger Than Basketball", he wants the kids to enjoy being young but take advantage of this opportunity of being great student-athletes at an early age, so it will carry on into their lives being leaders, bosses, and professionals. His life revolves around our youth, mentoring, pushing them to exceed their potential and to keep the right mindset to take them far in life. His devotion for this organization and our youth, overall,  is unlimted.
